Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
FLORENCE, SC -- The Pee Dee Pride suffered a 2-1 shootout loss to the Greenville Grrrowl in front of 2,991 fans on Tuesday night at the Florence Civic Center.  Greenville started the scoring with a power-play tally 3:43 into the first period. Pride goaltender Nick Boucher made the initial save, but the rebound came free to Colin Pepperall who slid it across the line for his first goal of the season.  It stayed that way until the 12:52 mark of the final period, when the Pride took advantage of their eighth power-play opportunity of the night. Allan Sirois was able to tuck a shot past Grrrowl goaltender Mike Brodeur for his second goal of the season.  Brodeur was the game's number one star, turning aside 40 of 41 Pride shots.  Pee Dee was 1-for-8 on the power play, while Greenville was 1-for-4.  The Pride return to action on Friday, traveling to Columbia for their match-up of the year against the Inferno. Face-off at the Carolina Coliseum is set for 7:30 p.m. All of the action can be heard on WDAR Sunny 105.5, starting with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 7:10.  Pee Dee returns home on Saturday, November 13, hosting the Inferno at 7:30. It's NASCAR Night, presented by Darlington Raceway. Prior to the game, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be in the civic center parking lot from 5-7. Fans can have their picture taken with the horses with a $1 donation to the Pride Youth Hockey Association. NASCAR Nextel Cup Series driver Ward Burton will be in attendance at the game, and during the second intermission, the Pride present the eighth annual Wiener Dog Nationals. Tickets are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
