MATCH PREVIEW
The Foxes return to Chukchansi Park in hopes of extending their win streak to three games when they host Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday at Chukchansi Park. It's the second meeting between the two clubs, with the Foxes playing to a 1-1 draw in Phoenix earlier in the season after giving up a stoppage-time goal to settle for a point. It was a chippy contest with Phoenix going down to 10 men early as Amadou Dia was given a red card for a reckless tackle to Foxes' captain Juan Pablo Caffa that left the 33-year-old midfielder out four weeks with an ankle injury. Now healthy and in-form, Caffa has scored three goals in two games to lead the Foxes into a crucial battle against a third-place Rising side that is unbeaten in their last six matches, including wins in three of their last four matches. Phoenix, under the direction of interim head coach and recently-voted USL Coach of the Month, Rick Schantz, have not given up a goal since Schantz's promotion. They've outscored opponents 8-0 and their eight clean sheets are fourth-most in the USL. Rising's offense is also lethal, producing 293 shots in 18 matches but are converting at a 14% rate. Rising FC is the former club of Fresno GM Frank Yallop, where he was head coach before leaving the post in April 2017.
USL TEAM OF THE WEEK
Fresno's Juan Pablo Caffa was named to the USL Team of the Week on Tuesday for his epic performance in the Foxes' 4-2 win over Portland Timbers 2. It is the second Team of the Week honor for Caffa and seventh of his career.
