Preview: Spirit Host Storm Sunday

SAGINAW, MI - On Sunday afternoon, the Saginaw Spirit (20-24-2-2, 4th West Division) welcome the Guelph Storm (9-31-4-2, 5th Midwest Division) to The Dow Event Center. Puck drop is 4:00 p.m.

The Spirit are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday night at The Dow. Despite a game-tying goal by Blake Clarke in the third period, the Rangers topped the Spirit on a game-winning goal by Mason Kohn. Evan Cormier showcased another impressive goaltending performance, stopping 27 shots in the defeat.

Guelph is coming off a tough loss Friday night, as the North Bay Battalion blanked the Storm 4-0 at the Sleeman Centre. The Storm have dropped their last five games.

Head-to-Head:

Sunday afternoon's contest is the second of four meetings between the Spirit and the Storm. The Spirit drew first blood back on Friday, December 11th, as they downed the Storm by a score of 4-1. The Spirit were lead by multi-point efforts from Chase Stewart and Artem Artemov and a 33 save performance by Evan Cormier. Matthew Hotchkiss scored the lone goal for Guelph.
