The Cougars got goals in the setback from Viliam Kmec and Chase Wheatcroft. Tyler Brennan came in relief in the first period and stopped 19 out of 20 shots for the Cougars.
'Chase'ing History: Cougars forward Chase Wheatcroft is one power-play goal away from setting the franchise's single season power-play goal record. Funk is Back: Newly acquired Cougar and former member of the Hitmen Zac Funk will play against his old team tonight. Funk was acquired at the January 10th deadline for Carter MacAdams and three draft picks.
On the Other Side: The Calgary Hitmen enter tonight's game against the Cougars with six wins in their last 10 games. 9 of Calgary's 22 wins this season have come on home ice. Offensively, the Hitmen are led by Riley Fiddler-Schultz who has collected 44 points already this season (22G-22A). Newly acquired Hitmen forward and former Cougar Carter MacAdams owns three points with his new team (1G 2A). MacAdams scored in his Calgary debut in a victory last week over Swift Current.
