The Kelowna Rockets will be back in action with a pair of home games this weekend against the Vancouver Giants.

Both games were rescheduled from pauses due to Covid-19 earlier in the season.

Prospera Place announced today that guests in attendance will no longer have to show proof of vaccination in adherence with the new B.C. provincial guidelines. Face coverings will continue to be optional when attending a Rockets game, concerts, shows, and other events at Prospera Place.

Single-game ticket holders tickets from the original date of the game will be valid at the door.

The Rockets were last in action on Wednesday night in Prince George, where the team won 4-1 over the Cougars. Colton Dach and Pavek Novak both posted a three-point night. Jari Kykkanen made 21 saves on 22 shots to pick up his seventh win of the season.

The Giants hosted the Spokane Chiefs last weekend, failing 5-2 on Saturday and 4-1 on Sunday.

Vancouver has a busy weekend this weekend, they'll take on the Portland Winterhawks on Friday before heading to Kelowna.

The Rockets are still jockeying with the Seattle Thunderbirds for home-ice advantage in the playoffs. The 2022 WHL Playoffs are scheduled to begin Friday, April 22, 2022, with the re-introduction of the Conference Playoff format. As of Friday afternoon, the Rockets are two points back of Seattle fourth in the Western Conference. You can find the standings below.

Tickets for all Rockets games are available at selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050. Select Your Tickets is open 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and opens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday home game days.

THE LAST TIME THESE TWO MET

The Rockets picked up their third win of a three in three weekend with a come from behind 5-4 victory over the Vancouver Giants at the Langley Events Centre back on March 6th.

The Rockets burst out of the gate with a pair of goals in the opening two minutes of the game. The Giants pushed back with three straight goals to take the lead before the end of the first period. Talyn Boyko replaced Jari Kykkanen in net for Kelowna to start the second period. The Rockets then tied the game on a goal from Andrew Cristall and Mark Liwiski pushed them ahead with a penalty shot. Vancouver tied the game early in the final frame, but Liwiski played the hero with his second goal of the game.

WHO TO WATCH

KELOWNA

Colton Dach is two points back of Pavel Novak's team-leading 70. Dach has 26 goals and 42 assists through 57 games this season, he leads the team in power play points with 25 (9G, 16A).

Nolan Flamand posted a pair of assists in the Rockets 4-1 victory over the Cougars on Wednesday.

The Kelowna Rockets online 50/50 is back for the 2021-22 season!

The online 50/50 will give fans in Rockets fans located in British Columbia and those who are attending the game the chance to win during every Rockets home game this season. The 50/50 will also raise important dollars for the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association.

Tickets will be available for purchase on all game days starting at 9 a.m. PT and end at the start of the third period on the same day.
