THE STORY COMING IN: The Road Warriors (21-12-1) open their second consecutive three-game weekend series at home tonight with a key matchup against the Fort Wayne Komets (24-6-2). The Road Warriors currently hold the second spot in the East Division and fourth place in the Eastern Conference, while Fort Wayne is the best team in the league with 50 points. Last time out, Greenville secured its 21st win of the season in come-from-behind fashion when the club earned a 3-2 shootout victory over Elmira last Sunday. Tyler Brown evened the game with less than three minutes remaining in regulation, before Brown, Vinny Saponari and Michael St. Croix each scored in an eight-round shootout. Meanwhile, the Komets have earned points in their last three games (2-0-1) and are coming off of a 5-4 shootout loss to Wheeling last Friday. Fort Wayne is two points ahead of Toledo for first place in the North Division and is the league's second-best team on the road this season (14-3-0).

HOME SWEET HOME: After playing 20 of its first 28 games on the road, Greenville continues a mammoth 12-game home stand tonight, which runs through Jan. 17th. The Road Warriors are 10-4-0 on SANDLAPPER Securities Rink so far this season, which marks the fourth-best record at home for any team in the league - trailing only Florida (9-1-1), Fort Wayne (10-3-2) and Allen (13-2-1). Greenville has also outscored its opponents 50-38 at home this season and has won eight of its last 11 games at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

WARRIORS VS. KOMETS: Friday's contest marks the second of three games between the Warriors and Komets this season (one in Fort Wayne and two in Greenville). The Road Warriors currently lead the season-series 1-0-0 after a big 3-1 win at Fort Wayne on Nov. 22nd. That night, Vinny Saponari earned one of his seven multi-point games this season (1g, 1a), while goaltender Jeff Malcolm made 25 saves for the victory. Last season, Greenville went 1-0-1 against the Komets with both of those games taking place on the road. The Warriors are 2-0-2 all-time against Fort Wayne in four regular-season meetings.

WARRIORS VS. STINGRAYS: Sunday's game marks the ninth of 14 meetings between the in-state rivals this season (eight in Greenville, six in North Charleston). Through the first eight contests, the Stingrays lead the season-series 5-3-0, including a 5-0 victory in their last meeting on Dec. 30th at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. In fact, South Carolina has won each of the last five meetings between the two clubs after the Road Warriors began the season 3-0-0 against the Stingrays. Greenville leads the all-time series 37-31-3.

THE "MISSIAEN" CONTINUES: New York Rangers' prospect Jason Missiaen made a pair of headlines on Monday when he was reassigned to Greenville from Hartford by New York and was also named Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for December. The 24-year old went 6-0-1 during the month with a 1.41 goals against average (GAA), .957 save percentage and two shutouts in seven games. He also earned CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors for Dec. 15-21 after going 4-0-0 with a 0.99 GAA, .965 save percentage and two shutouts. He returns to Greenville on a career-best five-game winning streak and undefeated in regulation since Nov. 28th (6-0-1).

ALL-STAR SELECTION: The ECHL announced on Thursday goaltender Jeff Malcolm will represent the Road Warriors at the 2015 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic presented by Visit Orlando on Jan 21st in Orlando, Florida. Malcolm has consistently been one of the league's best goaltenders this season and is currently 12-7-0 with a 2.58 GAA, .977 save percentage and one shutout in 19 starts. He was named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Oct. 20-26 after going 2-0-0 with a 0.50 GAA, .977 save percentage and one shutout.

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?: The Warriors skate without forward Tyler Brown tonight for just the second time this season. The 24-year old was called up to AHL Hartford last Tuesday after he scored four goals in his last two games, including his first professional hat trick on Saturday against Florida. In 33 contests this season, Brown led the Road Warriors with 12 goals and was fifth on the team with a +10 rating.
