The New Year's series began in 1990 - a 6-5 Spokane victory. The Americans have won four of the past five games. Tri-City leads the series 20-10-0-1 with 1 tie.
The two teams met last night in Spokane as the Americans struggled and fell 6-2. The Ams defeated the Chiefs in both prior meetings this season. They will look to rebound tonight and take 3-1 lead in the season series.
Cash Koch scored Tri-City's first goal last night as he redirected a shot from Jackson Smith. It was the first time Koch has recorded goals in two straight games. The 16-year-old forward has five points over the last five games.
Lukas Dragicevic netted Tri-City's second goal. The Seattle Kraken prospect has three goals and one assist over the last two games.
Kyle Kelsey played in net, turning aside 32 of 38 shots faced.
Deagan McMillan leads head-to-head scoring with three goals against the Chiefs this season. Chase Bertholet and Conner Roulette each have two goals against Tri-City.
After tonight's game, the Ams will hit the road for their Central Division road trip. They will play six straight games on the road beginning in Lethbridge on Friday, January 5. They will return home on January19 to take on the Seattle Thunderbirds for Southridge Dental Fan Appreciation Night.
