Nashville, TN--Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed free-agent forward Josh Langfeld to a one-year contract.

Langfeld, 30, played the 2006-07 season in the Detroit Red Wings organization, appearing in 33 National Hockey League games with the Wings and 38 American Hockey League games with Grand Rapids. The 6-3, 216-pound forward finished fourth on the Griffins in scoring with 32 points (13g-19a).

A native of Fridley, Minn., Langfeld has registered 32 points (9g-23a) in 141 career NHL games over five seasons (2001-04, 2005-07) with Ottawa, San Jose, Boston and Detroit. He was originally Ottawa's third choice, 66th overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft and his four-year college career at the University of Michigan included a national championship in 1998.

The Admirals will open the 2007-08 season in Peoria on October 6th with the home opener slated for Friday, October 12th at 7:00 pm against the Quad City Flames at the Bradley Center.
