Admirals Release Training Camp Roster and Schedule

NORFOLK - Today, the Norfolk Admirals released the roster and schedule for their training camp. The camp, which begins on September 17, features 34 players.

"We are thrilled to kick off our first season affiliated with the Tampa Bay Lightning on September 17," said Admirals Vice President Mark Bernard. "[Tampa Bay Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager] Jay Feaster and [Tampa Bay Lightning Assistant General Manager and Norfolk Admirals General Manager] Claude Loiselle have done a terrific job this off-season in acquiring some key players. As always, we feel confident that the Admirals will be a very competitive team."

The training camp roster features 22 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders. A complete roster follows. Defenseman Jerramie Domish, a member of last season's Admirals squad, will participate in camp on a tryout basis.

Training camp will run from September 17-28 and will be held at the Chilled Ponds Ice Sports Complex in Chesapeake. A complete schedule of on-ice activities follows. Fans who would like to come and see the camp are strongly encouraged to first phone the Admirals at 640-1212 to confirm practice times.

The annual intra-squad scrimmage will take place again this season. This year's Blue vs. Gold game will take place on Sunday morning, September 23, starting at 11:00 at Chilled Ponds. The Admirals will also take part in two pre-season exhibition games - both on the road. The Admirals will face off against the Hershey Bears on Saturday, September 29 at the Giant Center at 7:00 p.m. The following day, Norfolk will travel to the Polonia Bank Skate Zone in Northeast Philadelphia on Sunday, September 30 to take on the Phantoms at 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday, September 18: On ice testing from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Wednesday, September 19: On-ice practice from 10:00-12:00 with scrimmage during first hour

Thursday, September 20: On-ice practice from 10:00-12:00 with scrimmage during first hour

Friday, September 21: On-ice practice from 10:00-12:00 with scrimmage during first hour

Saturday, September 22: On-ice practice from 11:30-1:30 with scrimmage during first hour

Sunday, September 23: Blue vs. Gold intra-squad scrimmage at 11:00

Monday, September 24: Off day

September 25 - 28: On-ice practice from 10:00-12:00 with scrimmage during first hour

The Admirals will open their eighth season of American Hockey League action and first season as the top affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday, October 5, at Philadelphia. The Admirals will come to Scope for the first time in 2007-08 on Friday, October 19, versus the Binghamton Senators.
