LAST TIME OUT: The Skeeters offensive outburst led to a 12-4 rout of the Revolution on Thursday night. Aaron Thompson had a solid outing with six strong innings of work. Thompson only allowed two runs on eight hits with nine strikeouts and a walk.
SECOND HALF: Sugar Land is 3-1 in the second half and still holds a half game lead over Lancaster for 1st place in the Freedom Division.
ALL- TIME AGAINST YORK: Sugar Land is 56-35 against York all-time (26-16 at Constellation Field, 30-19 at PeoplesBank Park).
2016 AGAINST YORK: The Skeeters are 6-5 against York this season (3-1 at Constellation Field, 3-4 at PeoplesBank Park)
HAGUE HOMERS: With Ricky Hague's solo blast against York Thursday night, he tied his minor league career high in homers (8) which was set in 2013 w/ AA Harrisburg (WAS). Hague is also on a tear at the plate, including his 4-5 outing last night against York. Over the last 10 G, Hague is batting .303 (13-43), HR, 5 RBI. Hague is also hitting .370 (10-27) in the month of July.
RODRIGUEZ KEEPS ROLLING: Wilfredo extended his hitting-streak to 6 consecutive games on Thursday night and is batting .393 (9-23), HR, 6 RBI over that stretch.
THERES NO PLACE LIKE HOME: Johan Limonta has been productive for the Skeeters since coming off the DL, hitting .363 (4-11), RBI in his three games back. He's also seen some major production at home this season, batting .362 (17-47), 4 RBI in 16 home games.
BARFIELD AND THE REVOLUTION: Besides being one of the Skeeters best hitters in 2016, Barfield has found a lot of success particularly against York pitching. In 10 G against the Revolution, Barfield is batting .384 (15-39), 1 HR, 9 RBI. Barfield is also having a solid July, batting .304 (7-24), HR, 3 RBI in 7 G.
RECENT TRANSACTIONS: On Friday afternoon, the Skeeters announced the retirement of OF Ben Guez who appeared in 10 G for the Skeeters in 2016. The Skeeters also activated starting pitcher, Brett Marshall.
