BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder officials announced Wednesday a busy weekend is on tap at U.S. Cellular Coliseum with two games in three days.
The PrairieThunder battles Quad City at 7:05 p.m. Friday and will wear specialty "Land of Lincoln" jerseys during the game to honor the 201stbirthday of President Abraham Lincoln. The jerseys, with a big penny on the front, will be auctioned off after the game.
It's also Stress Free Night, sponsored by CEFCU, and fans are encouraged to wear relaxing clothing such as pajamas to enjoy the game in. Miniature hockey puck key rings will be given to fans entering U.S. Cellular Coliseum prior to the International Hockey League game.
Fans also can take advantage of the Family Friday Four-Pack ticket plan where $44 gets four tickets, four hot dogs, four popcorns and four sodas.
Sunday is Bloomington Meats Kids Day where tickets for youth 12-and-under are half-price ($4) and kid's meals (hot dog, chips, soda and PrairieThunder gift) are $3. The hot dogs are compliments of Bloomington Meats.
Fans also will have an opportunity to skate with their favorite PrairieThunder player after the game with the Fort Wayne Komets. Tickets for all PrairieThunder games can be purchased through Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000; the PrairieThunder office at 309-585-0507 or at the Coliseum box office.
