Mississippi Braves News Release
PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves infielder Rich Poythress has been activated from the disabled list.
Poythress, 26, was placed on the DL with a left ankle sprain August 12. He was signed by the Braves and assigned to Mississippi on July 10. He joined the M-Braves from Double-A Jacksonville. In 24 games with the Braves, Poythress hit .267 with nine RBI. With the Suns, the first baseman was hitting .244 with six doubles, four homers and 17 RBI in 46 games. Prior to joining the Marlins organization, Poythress spent parts of 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013 with the Jackson Generals. He was originally selected by the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the 2009 draft out of the University of Georgia.
The Mississippi roster has 25 active players and 7 disabled.
