WEDNESDAY: West Virginia closed the series at Hagerstown with a 7-2 win. The Power back another solid pitching performance with two home runs and nine hits. Phillip Irwin pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and the two runs. West Virginia gained the lead for good in the third on an Aaron Baker home run, and tacked on three late, including a two-run shot by Evan Chambers. Bengie Gonzalez also drove in a pair for the Power.

POWER V LEGENDS: West Virginia has played Lexington more than any other team dating back to the 2005 season. The Power lead the all-time series 56-53, but trail 25-29 at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia does, however, have the edge at Applebee's Park in Lexington, winning 31 of 55 games. The 2009 series was split at six wins and six losses and the clubs have been even this year as well.

BAKER SHAKED 'EM: 1 eight inning start Tuesday was the longest appearance by any Power pitcher this season. West Virginia starting pitchers had gone seven full innings seven different times this season, including twice by Baker himself. The All-Star has pitched six innings or more in six of his 15 games in 2010 and each has been a quality start.

ROAD WARRIOR HALTED: David Rubinstein had his road on-base streak snapped at 29 consecutive games by going 0-5 on Tuesday. The streak started on April 25 at Kannapolis and was the longest road on-base streak in the league so far this season.

KELLY ON THE SPOT: Ryan Kelly will make a spot start for the Power today and his first since 2008. The last start for the right-hander was on July 28,2008 for State College against Mahoning Valley in the New York-Penn League. Kelly made six starts for the Spike in 2008, going 0-2 with a 5.23 ERA. Since that start, he has 55 games as a reliever.

WALK THIS WAY: Evan Chambers has walked 66 times this year to lead the South Atlantic League. Chambers ranks third across all of Minor League Baseball, trailing only Kila Ki'aihue of Omaha (74) and Conner Crumbliss of Kane County (70). Chambers on-base percentage from the leadoff spot is .412, while his overall OBP is .399, fifth best in the league.

WELCOME BACK: Pittsburgh promoted Brett Lorin to the Power roster on Wednesday to fill the vacant spot. Lorin was acquired by the Pirates last July in the deal that sent Jack Wilson and Ian Snell to the Seattle Mariners. The right-hander spent the final few weeks of the 2009 season with the Power, going 3-1 with a 1.57 earned run average. He began this season with the GCL Pirates, going 0-0 with a 1.29 ERA.

POWER POINTS: Rogelio Noris has the fourth best home run to at bat ratio in the SAL with one home run ever 21 at bats, while Aaron Baker is fifth at one in every 22.42 at bats. Justin Bass of Greensboro leads the league in long balls and has the best ratio (1/16.33 AB)...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost at Houston 6-3... Indianapolis dropped a 6-1 final at Louisville... Altoona fell 9-6 to Binghamton... Bradenton won 6-4 against Charlotte.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN Radio 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
