April 7, 2009 - California League (CalL1)
Stockton Ports News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Ports, reigning champions of the California League, are excited to announce that 11 of their games will be telecast live on Comcast Hometown Network, a regional cable network covering Northern and Central California, as part of its Comcast Hometown Sports programming. Fans in Northern and Central California with Comcast digit cable can tune into Channel 104 to catch all the great baseball action.

"We're very excited to work with Comcast again this season, and to be able to broadcast a number of games for a regional audience. Telecasting our games on Comcast Hometown Network is a great way for Oakland A's fans in Northern and Central California to watch the rising stars of the Athletics organization," said Ports President and General Manager Pat Filippone. "With this continued partnership with Comcast, even more baseball fans will be able to follow the Ports as they compete to capture an unprecedented 12th franchise league championship this summer."

Comcast Channel 26 (SJTV) Sports Director Erik Alves will be back broadcasting Ports games for Comcast this season, and he will be assisted by Zack Bayrouty, the Voice of the Stockton Ports. Alves will call the play-by-play, while Bayrouty will provide the analysis for Ports telecasts. All games will be produced by longtime Northern California producer and sports announcer Dave Cox.

"These California League baseball games are an integral ingredient for Comcast Hometown Network as we provide compelling, community-based regional programming," said Comcast Hometown Network's Andrew Johnson. "This is exactly why we created the network and the Comcast Network Hometown Sports programming block. Not only can Comcast viewers observe the major league stars of tomorrow, but they can watch and be a part of the teams from their local area."

Ports fans can tune into Channel 104 during the season to catch 11 Ports games, including the season's Opening Day on April 9 and the home opener on April 16. Ports games also will be available through Comcast's Video ON DEMAND feature, which is free to Comcast digital customers. To view Ports games on ON DEMAND, fans can tune into Channel 1 on their Digital Cable lineup or press the ON DEMAND button on their remote control, then click on the "Get Local" section, and then select "Local Sports." Ports games also will be replayed several times on Comcast Hometown Network. In addition to telecasting Stockton Ports games, Comcast Hometown Network will telecast San Jose Giants games.
