Stockton, CA - The Stockton Ports led from start to finish on Wednesday night, shutting out the Quakes by a final of 4-0.
The Rancho offense mustered just four hits, three singles, in getting blanked for the fourth time this year.
Rancho starter Chris Campos (5-6) gave up two in the first and two more in the fourth, as Jose Mujica slugged a three-run homer (6) and finished with three RBIs, putting Stockton up 4-0 after four.
The Quakes never reached third base and struggled all night against Stockton starter Eduardo Rivera (2-6), who fired seven innings of scoreless baseball to earn the win.
The Quakes (25-31, 64-58) will send RHP Patrick Copen to the mound on Thursday, as he'll make his California League debut. Stockton will counter with RHP Luis Carrasco at 7:05pm in game three of the series.
The Quakes return to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, September 5 for the final regular season home stand against the Visalia Rawhide. Tuesday will be a Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com...Go Quakes!
