Hawks Happenings On The Ice:
Alex Overhardt is having a terrific preseason for the Winterhawks, leading the team with four goals and two assists for six points in six games. His six points tie him for third in the WHL in preseason action, while his four goals tie him for second. Entering his second season, Overhardt is looking to build on the two goals and nine assists he posted as a rookie last season.
In addition to Overhardt, another young player is having a solid preseason as 16-year-old rookie Cody Glass has a goal and four assists for five points in six games. Glass was the team's first round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
Goaltender Michael Bullion has seen action in two games thus far in the preseason, and has made 40+ saves in each contest. His first appearance was a 44-save performance against the Tri-City Americans on September 5, and he followed that up with a 42-save game on Friday. Bullion spent most of last season with the Wenatchee Wild of the North American Hockey League, where he had a goals against average of 2.65 and .891 save percentage. He also suited up in four games for the Hawks last season.
Hawks alumnus Oliver Bjorkstrand is off to a great start with the Columbus Blue Jackets in the preseason, as he's amassed seven points in two games in the team's prospects tournament in Traverse City.
