Portland Winterhawks News Release
Hawks Happenings On The Ice:
The Winterhawks are in Kamloops tonight for Game 6 with a chance to end the series and advance to the Western Conference Final. Portland will have Oliver Gabriel back in the lineup tonight, having served his four-game suspension issued after the collided with Kamloops netminder Cole Cheveldave in Game 1. Gabriel has two points in four playoff games after posting a career-high 42 points in 39 regular season games.
Several Winterhawks are rising up the team's playoff leaderboard. Three players have played in all 43 of the team's playoff games in the last three years: Joe Morrow, Ty Rattie and Troy Rutkowski, who are tied for sixth all-time for postseason games played. Rattie's 47 points is tied for eighth in team history, while Sven Bartschi's 46 are tied for 10th. Rattie's 24 goals are tied for fourth in that category, while Bartschi's 31 assists are tied for eighth in that category. In addition, Morrow's 29 points are eighth all-time for scoring among defensemen.
Portland had 10,135 fans at Saturday's Game 5, bringing the average attendance through five home playoff games to 6,963, most among the Western Conference teams and second among all teams that advanced to the second round. It continues the strong numbers the Hawks posted leading into the postseason, when the team averaged 8,619 fans at its last five regular season home games, and 6,637 fans in February and March.
