The Harrisburg Senators fell to the Portland Sea Dogs 6-2 Sunday afternoon at FNB Field. The Senators lost their first series since May 3-6 against Trenton.

Matt Grace started the game for the Senators and pitched a perfect first inning, his lone frame of work, in his third rehab appearance for the club.

Austin Rei put Portland on the board with a home run on the first pitch of the third from pitcher Logan Darnell. The Sea Dogs expanded the lead to 3-0 in the fourth when two runs scored on a throwing error by Kelvin Gutierrez.

After three scoreless innings from Portland starter Teddy Stankiewicz, Adam Brett Walker drove in the the only runs of the game for the Senators in the fourth by launching a two-run home run to left center.

Portland tacked on a run in the sixth on a run-scoring groundout from Deiner Lopez and added a pair of runs in the eighth on a two-run single by Tate Matheny to make it 6-2 which would be the final score.

Darnell (3-3) suffered the loss after allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits across five innings. Stankiewicz (5-5) earned the win with six innings of two-run ball.

Walker finished 2-3 with a double and a home run to pace the Senators offense.

"(Walker's) come in and done a nice job. He's starting look to more comfortable every time up. He's had big hits and big homers," LeCroy said. "There's a lot of good things he can do for our lineup. He's got a chance to hit it out every time. He's playing well."

"Today was a combination of poor at-bats with runners in scoring position and we didn't make some plays on defense that we normally make and that cost us the game."

The Senators continue the homestand after an off-day on Monday with a three game series against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies which starts Tuesday night. Brady Dragmire starts for the Senators. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Harrisburg 96.5 & 95.3 FM and 1400 AM or at www.cbssportsharrisburg.com beginning at 6:15 p.m.
