
Portland Pirates Open Fan Voting for 2014-15 Team Awards

Portland, ME - The Portland Pirates today announced that voting for the 2014-15 Portland Pirates Team Awards is now open. Fans can go to portlandpirates.com and vote for the team Most Valuable Player, Most Popular Player, and Unsung Hero.
This will be the 22nd straight season that fans can vote on the three awards. The MVP, Most Popular Player and Unsung Hero will be three of six awards handed out prior to the Pirates final regular season home game on April 18 against the Providence Bruins. Also awarded will be the Players' Player, which is voted on by the team, the Tom Ebright Award given to the player judged best fit the vision of what a Pirates player should be, and the Jack Button Award given to the team's top NHL prospect as chosen by the Pirates' NHL parent club, the Arizona Coyotes.
The deadline to vote is next Thursday, April 16 at Noon.
The Pirates Push for the Playoffs heads to the road for Game 11 of the VIP Cup Series, presented by VIP Tires & Service, this Friday night against the Manchester Monarchs at Verizon Wireless Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Listen to "Voice of the Pirates" Jeff Mannix for all of the action beginning with the Pirates Pregame Show at 6:40 on AM 1310 WLOB.
Portland returns home to the Cross Insurance Arena on Saturday and Sunday to take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, featuring Biddeford, Maine native Brian Dumoulin. Saturday night is Autism Awareness Night with the Pirates wearing special autism themed jerseys, which will be auctioned online in the days following the game to benefit the Autism Society of Maine. Game time is 7:00 p.m. This Sunday is Salty Pete's Birthday, and we're celebrating with a Salty Pete Bobblehead giveaway to the first 1,000 fans, courtesy of Bath Savings Institution!
