Wednesday, April 1: Binghamton 3, Syracuse 2 (OT)

Shots: Binghamton 32, Syracuse 41

PP: Binghamton 1 for 2, Syracuse 0 for 5

The Binghamton Senators grabbed a 3-2 overtime win in the final of an eight-game season series with their rival Syracuse Crunch. The B-Sens finish with a 4-3-1-0 mark against their I-81 foes and take the season series for the second straight year.

Shane Prince added to his team lead in goals scored with his 24th of the year 4:05 into the first to give Binghamton the 1-0 lead. Syracuse responded with a goal from Mike Angelidis with 7:28 to play in the opening frame, but a power-play strike from Carter Camper with just over two minutes to play in the first gave the B-Sens the 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

Syracuse scored the lone tally of the second period just 1:23 in when Ryan Martindale fired his 13th of the season past Binghamon's Chris Driedger to even the score at 2-2 heading into the final period of regulation.

Following a scoreless third period, the B-Sens Chris Wideman gave the visitors the bonus point 3:06 into the sudden-death frame with his third overtime goal this season.

Driedger finished with 39 saves on 41 shots faced to remain unbeaten in all three starts in net this season for Binghamton. Kristers Gudlevskis allowed three goals on 32 shots in the losing effort.

Friday, April 3: Lehigh Valley 3, Binghamton 4

Shots: Lehigh Valley 31, Binghamton 35

PP: Lehigh Valley 0 for 4, Binghamton 2 for 3

The B-Sens held on for a 4-3 home victory versus the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the final of ten meetings with their newest division rival. Binghamton took the season series 6-2-2-0 with a 4-0-1-0 mark at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.

First period goals from Troy Rutkowski and Derek Grant, respectively, just over two minutes apart gave the B-Sens the 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play with Driedger stopping all ten shots faced in the opening period.

A strike from Lehigh Valley's Blair Jones at the 13 minute mark of the second was the lone score in the middle frame giving the B-Sens a 2-1 advantage heading into the final period.

Mark Alt evened the score just 11 seconds into the final period of regulation with just his second goal of the season, but Prince regained the lead for Binghamton exactly three minutes later with his 25th of the year. The Phantoms once again managed to tie the score just before the midway point of the third from Jason Akeson, but Ryan Dzingel put the B-Sens ahead for good with less than two minutes to play in regulation with his 16th score of his rookie campaign.

Driedger stopped 28 shots to improve to 4-0-0. Prince recorded a goal and an assist while Aaron Johnson and Alex Grant each finished with two helpers to lead Binghamton offensively.

Saturday, April 4: Binghamton 1, Albany 4

Shots: Binghamton 27, Albany 37

PP: Binghamton 0 for 4, Albany 2 for 6

The B-Sens failed to make it a perfect start to the month of April after they fell 4-1 to their host the Albany Devils. Paul Thompson lifted the hosts with a natural hat trick performance to officially eliminate Binghamton from the 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Brad Mills scored the only goal in the opening 20 minutes of play with his fourth goal of the season off a behind-the-net feed from Derek Grant. Despite being outshot 15-11 over the first period, the B-Sens took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Thompson managed to record his third hat trick of the season throughout the final two periods. The first two goals came in the second period a little over two minutes apart both on the power play. Thompson's final goal came at 14:59 of the third period to complete the hat trick bid. Scott Timmins pushed the final score to 4-1 on an empty-net tally with less than a minute remaining.

Peter Mannino ended the night with 33 saves while Scott Clemmensen stopped 26 shots to record the win.

Tuesday, April 7: Norfolk 7, Binghamton 4

Shots: Norfolk 34, Binghamton 23

PP: Norfolk 1 for 6, Binghamton 1 for 3

Binghamton fell to the Norfolk Admirals 7-4 in the final meeting ever between the division foes. The Admirals used three goals in both the first and second periods to build a 6-3 heading into the final period before holding on for the win.

Antoine Laganiere gave Norfolk the 1-0 lead on his 11th goal of the season 3:44 into the opening period. Binghamton responded just 42 seconds later when Darren Kramer swiped home a rebounded puck from a shot by Wideman to even the score 1-1. Goals from Mike Sgarbossa at 8:14 and David Steckel at 15:44 of the period gave the visitors a 3-1 advantage heading into the first intermission.

Sgarbossa grabbed his second of the night 3:26 into the second period to increase the visitors lead to 4-1. Goals from Binghamton's Danny Hobbs at 9:52 and Cole Schneider at 16:45 cut the Admirals lead to 4-3, but Norfolk managed to score twice over the final 2:34 of the period ending the B-Sens Scott Greenham's night in net and taking the 6-3 advantage into the final period.

Binghamton managed to inch closer 3:50 into the final frame when Camper sent his 15th goal of the season past Norfolk's Jason LaBarbera, but that would be as close as the hosts would get. Charles Sarault put the contest away with his eighth of the year with just over two minutes to play in regulation.

The B-Sens host back-to-back games to round out their busy week starting Friday, April 10, when they welcome the Albany Devils at 7:05p.m. for Animal Adventure Night. Cooper the Kangaroo will be on hand to perform a ceremonial puck drop as well as other exotic animals along the Arena concourse.

Animal Adventure will have two exhibits set up along the concourse with several different species on display. 'Big Ben' the 9-foot long boa constrictor, Chelsea the Amazon Parrot and Hermie the Hedgehog are just a few of the animals fans can interact with. Discounted $15 tickets are available with $2 from each ticket sold going directly to Animal Adventure to help them raise money for their new Giraffe named Oliver who is set to arrive at their park in Harpursville this spring.

Friday is also our Annual "Pucks 4 Paws" night. This will be the fourth year the B-Sens have partnered with Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital to assist the Southern Tier pet population. Finally, Friday will also be the final postgame skate for fans presented by Fidelis Care. Fans who bring their own skates are welcome down to the ice after the game for an open skate on the B-Sens home ice with all participants receiving a FREE gift courtesy of Fidelis Care. Fans must bring their own skates to participate in the postgame skate; there WILL NOT be skates available to rent.

Saturday Binghamton rounds out its busy week when they host the Utica Comets at 7:05p.m. for our Annual Faceoff Against Cancer presented by Lourdes Hospital. Come support a great cause as several Relay For Life teams will have tables along the contest raising money to help fight this horrible disease. There will be a ceremonial puck drop pregame with a local cancer survivor doing the honors as well as a survivors lap during the first intermission.

SENS SNIPPETS...

Forward Darren Kramer has established new career highs in every major statistical category including games played (67), assists (12), and points (17). Kramer, who continues to lead the league with 252 penalty minutes this season, has already tripled his point total he had with the B-Sens over his first 66 games with the team.

Rookie Goaltender Chris Driedger is a perfect 4-0-0 in four starts with the B-Sens this season. Driedger, Ottawa's third-round pick in the 2012 Entry Level Draft, has a 2.74 goals-against average along with a 0.911 save percentage in just over 260 minutes in goal for Binghamton.
