Portland Can't Hold On, Fall 6-5 in Harrisburg

Harrisburg, Pa. - The Harrisburg Senators (22-20) won their seventh straight game, beating the Portland Sea Dogs (15-28), 6-5 on Monday night in the series opener at FNB Field. Portland had two leads, 11 hits, but lost their third straight game.

Leading 5-4 entering the bottom of the eighth inning, Luis Ysla (1-2) could not hold the lead, taking the loss for Portland. Chris Bostick (2 triples) led off the eighth with a triple and scored the tying run on a triple by Zach Collier. Harrisburg had 4 triples on the night. The game-winning run scored on a sacrifice fly by Adrian Sanchez.

In the ninth, Koda Glover pitched a perfect frame to earn his second save of the year. Portland took a 5-4 lead over winning pitcher Derek Self (2-1) on Rainel Rosario's RBI single in the eighth. Rosario finished 3-for-4 with a double and run scored.

Portland trailed 1-0, but scored four times off starter Tyler Mapes in the third. Tzu-Wei Lin tied the game with a triple and scored on a single by Henry Ramos. Sean Coyle blasted a two-run homer to right field, his 17th Double-A home run.

Harrisburg added a run off Aaron Wilkerson in the fourth inning on Shawn Pleffner's RBI single. Wilkerson had his scoreless streak snapped at 21 innings in the second inning, and worked 5+ innings on 6 hits and 3 runs. The Senators tied the game in the sixth inning on Spencer Kieboom's two-run homer off Williams Jerez.

Catcher Jake Romanski added two hits, picking up his team-leading 12th multi-hit game of the season. Portland is 13 games under .500 for the second time this season, and 4-18 on the road.

The Sea Dogs and Harrisburg Senators (Nationals affiliate) play game two of their series on Tuesday night beginning at 7:00 PM. Righty Keith Couch (2-0, 0.90) makes his 4th start of the season for Portland. Harrisburg's Reynaldo Lopez (1-3, 4.10) makes his 8th start of the year.
