SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Chiefs goaltender James Porter Jr. recorded his second shutout in as many games on Saturday night as the Chiefs shutout the rival Tri-City Americans, 6-0 in front of over 9,600 at Spokane Arena.

Following a scoreless first period, the floodgates opened in the second as the Chiefs outshot the Americans 20-2, scoring four. Second-year forward Jack Finley weaved through a trio of Tri-City defenders and fired one in from the slot 54 seconds into the frame to put Spokane up 1-0.

The 2020 NHL Draft prospect struck again at 2:13, tipping one past Americans netminder Talyn Boyko with the Chiefs on the power play to make it 2-0. Spokane added scores from Brandon Reller and Luke Toporowski before the period expired, taking a 4-0 lead into the second break.

The Chiefs added scores by NHL prospects Adam Beckman (Minnesota Wild) and Ty Smith (New Jersey Devils) in the third period as they held Tri-City scoreless to secure the shutout and earn their fourth-straight win. The two-goal effort from Finley gives him six points (3G, 3A) over his last two games.

Porter ended the night a perfect 25-of-25 in net while Boyko was 38-of-44. Porter has not allowed a goal in 155:14 of ice time dating back to a January 25 appearance against the Americans. The Chiefs converted 1-of-3 power play chances and held the Americans 0-for-2.
