
Porter Jr. Selected to All NBA G League First Team, Martin Named to All-Rookie Team

EDINBURG, Texas - The NBA G League announced today that Houston Rockets assignees Kevin Porter Jr. was named to All-NBA G League First Team and KJ Martin was named to the All-Rookie Team.
Porter Jr. played and started in all 15 regular-season games for the Vipers during the 2020-21 G League single-site. The guard averaged 24.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.5 steals in 36.0 minutes of action. Porter Jr. shot 44.8% from the field throughout the season.
The Seattle native led the G League with 24.1 ppg, 361 total points and 109 assists. Porter Jr. ranked second with 7.3 assists per game and second with most assists in a game (14).
Porter Jr. recorded the first triple-double of 2021 NBA G League competition and for the Vipers as he totaled 27 points, 11 rebounds, 14 assists in win over Erie BayHawks on Feb. 25. He shot 45.8% from the field and 50.0% from the free throw line. The next day, Porter Jr. notched a double-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds adding six assists in second consecutive win over Canton Charge. In addition, the 6-4-foot guard earned NBA G League Player of the Week for Week 3 - Feb. 22 through Feb. 28.
Martin averaged 19.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.9 blocks in 10 games. The 6-6-foot forward hit eight consecutive double-doubles with multiple career-highs in points (30), rebounds (19) and blocks (6). Martin scored 30 points while adding 10 rebounds, two assists and three blocks against Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Feb. 13. Martin recorded 19 rebounds while scoring 23 points against Lakeland Magic on Feb. 16.
The 20-year-old ranked fourth with 11.4 rebounds per game and third with six most blocks in a game in the G League.
