Geneva, Illinois - Playing as the "Atomic Pork Chops," the Kane County Cougars (59-45, 24-11) saw their six-game winning streak come to an end in a 3-1 loss to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (51-53, 20-15) on Sunday afternoon at Northwestern Medicine Field. Thomas Dillard's seventh inning home run was the decisive blast.

In the top of the second, Antonio Pinero collected a one-out single. He came around to score on Korry Howell's RBI single to make it 1-0 Wisconsin. The Cougars battled back to tie it in the bottom of the second. Buddy Kennedy led off with a double and Dominic Fletcher reached on a single to put runners at the corners. The next batter, Blaze Alexander, roped a double to left scoring Kennedy, but Fletcher was thrown out at the plate.

In the seventh, David Fry led off with a single. The next hitter, Thomas Dillard, launched a two-run homer to give Wisconsin a 3-1 lead. That lead held up for reliever Max Lazar (4-2) who went four innings and didn't allow a run in earning the win for the Rattlers.

Ryan Miller (4-6) suffered the loss. The only two runs he gave up in 3+ innings came on Dillard's homer.

The Cougars look to win the series against Wisconsin Monday night with a 6:30 first pitch. Follow the action live on AM 1280 WBIG or online at kccougars.com.
