
Plenty of Fun in Store for Keys Final Homestand

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Keys begin their final homestand of the year on Tuesday night at Nymeo Field. Totaling seven games, the Keys will conclude their season with an afternoon Labor Day matchup against the Winston-Salem Dash. During the final weekend homestand plenty of fun events have been scheduled, including Medieval Times Night, Art in the Park Night and the annual Guns and Hoses Softball Game. Additionally, Keys fans will have a chance to win great prizes on Fan Appreciation Day.
On Friday at 7:00 p.m the Keys will transport fans back in time to a period of bravery and honor during Medieval Times Night. Gates open at 6 o'clock, while several knights from Medieval Times will be in attendance to lead a night of Renaissance activities. There will be sword fights throughout the night, while Keyote will be knighted before the game. The evening concludes with fireworks presented by Mattress Warehouse.
Saturday at 6 p.m is Art in the Park Night. Keys players and coaches will be wearing special Maryland-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. Proceeds will go to the Frederick Arts Council. Fans can also bid on baseballs designed and autographed by members of the team, while local artists will be in attendance. Fireworks follow the game sponsored by the Plamondon Companies.
The annual Guns and Hoses Softball Game takes place on Sunday afternoon, before the Keys 6:00 p.m first pitch against Winston-Salem. This annual showdown between the Frederick Police and Fire Departments runs from 3-5 p.m, and gates will open at 2:30. It is also a Sunday Funday presented by Heartfields Assisted Living at Frederick. There will be a pre-game catch in the outfield from 5-5:30 p.m while two players will be signing autographs on the concourse. The night concludes with the final fireworks show of the season presented by Precision Heating and Cooling.
Labor Day marks the end of the Keys regular season, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m and gates opening at 1. It is Fan Appreciation Day at the ballpark and fans will have a chance to win a host of terrific Keys and Orioles memorabilia. Some of the feature items include a Manny Machado autographed jersey, signed Matt Wieters and Chance Sisco bats as well as Pat Sajak and Kevin Gausman autographed bobbleheads.
After a Monday off-day, the homestand begins Tuesday night when the Carolina Mudcats come to town. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m and the broadcast can be heard on 1450 AM The Source and frederickkeys.com. For tickets, fans can call the box office at 301-815-9939 or visit frederickkeys.com.
