Dash Release Weekend-Heavy 2016 Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Aug. 31, 2015) - The Winston-Salem Dash have announced their 2016 schedule, and the home slate begins on Thursday, April 14, at BB&T Ballpark. In all, the Dash will host 33 weekend games (Friday, Saturday or Sunday). For a full look at this year's schedule, click here.

The Dash open the slate with a week-long road trip before a seven-game homestand against division rivals Salem and Myrtle Beach to begin the 70-game home schedule.

BB&T Ballpark's busiest month is July, with Winston-Salem hosting 18 games. The fun begins with the annual Fourth of July game, which precedes the best Fireworks show in the Triad. The four biggest crowds in the BB&T Ballpark era have come on Independence day.

BB&T Ballpark will be busy in the final month of the season, too, as Winston-Salem will host three weekend series. The Dash conclude the regular season with a seven-game road swing from August 30-September 5. The Carolina League playoffs run from September 7-15.

The Dash have enjoyed tremendous success at BB&T Ballpark in its six-year run at the downtown facility. The club has recorded a league-best 244-176 (.581) record since the move downtown and finished no lower than second in average attendance each season among the 30 organizations in Class A-Advanced baseball.

For the second consecutive season, the Carolina League will feature an imbalanced schedule heavily reliant on divisional matchups. In a 2015 Southern Division Championship Series rematch, the Dash will play 27 times against the Chicago Cubs' Carolina League affiliate, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Winston-Salem also has 26 contests against the Salem Red Sox, Boston's High-A club, and 20 games against the Atlanta Braves' Carolina League affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats.
