Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
MAGIC NUMBER IS ONE- Though the Hooks dropped last night's game to San Antonio 8-1, they still hold their own destiny. With a win tonight, or with a Midland win over Frisco, the Hooks will clinch the first half of the Texas League Southern Division and a spot in the playoffs.
The Hooks have had a sensational first half hitting and pitching, leading the Texas League with a .284 team batting average and ranking second in the league with a 3.74 team ERA. At least one member of the Hooks is in every major offensive and defensive category including J.R. House, who leads the league in hitting, and pitcher Matt Albers, who leads the league in pitching.
AFTER PARTY TONIGHT- In honor of the Hooks' great first half play, there will be an after party at Brewster Street Ice House immediately following the game. Anyone with a ticket from tonight's game will get their first beer free.
ROCKET RE-LAUNCH- If you were at the game on Sunday and missed the broadcast, or if you just missed it, FOX Southwest will be re-broadcasting the Roger Clemens game following this Thursday's Astros-Cubs game. Scheduled start time is 4:00 pm.
Be sure to head on down to Brewster Street Ice House and join the fun for the "Rocket Re-Launch Party" where happy hour specials will go on throughout the game.
ALL-STAR GAME - This year's Texas League All-Star game will take place next Tuesday at Ray Winder Field in Little Rock, Arkansas with nine Hooks representing the Southern Division. ATTENTION SEASON TICKET HOLDERS - Season ticket holders will have the option to purchase playoff tickets. Invoices will go out in mid-July to all season ticket holders regarding tickets. A timeline is being created for ticket purchase for non-season ticket holders. Stay posted to www.cchooks.com for updates on playoff dates and ticket information.

NEXT GAMES - Tonight's game will be the last at Whataburger Field before the All-Star break. The Hooks will head to Frisco for a four-game series on Thursday. The boys will open up the second half at home when they take on the Arkansas Travelers on June 22-25. The home stand continues with a three-game series versus Springfield June 26-28.
