Ogden Raptors News Release
Hi Raptor Fans...... I am sorry it has taken so long to get a newsletter to you. It's been a hectic summer and sometimes I didn't have time. Sometimes I just forgot, so please forgive my tardiness.
As you may or may not know, the Raptors won the first half of the season and have qualified for the post season playoffs. Game 1 of the Southern Division Championship will begin September 9th in either Casper, Idaho Falls or Orem. Right now, it's looking like Casper which is okay sine the regular season ends the 8th, so we will already be there. Game 2 will be here on Saturday the 10th, and Sunday the 11th if needed. It is a best of three series. If we move on from there, game 1 of the Pioneer League Championship will take place right here on Tuesday the 13th. Monday would be a travel day for the Northern Champion to get here. Ed Sedar's Helena Brewers look like to team to beat.
For Season Ticket holders, your tickets for all 3 games are printed and available for pick up in the office. You will be paying for Game 1 of the Southern Division, and Sunday's ticket is FREE should we have to play it. You would also be paying for Game 1 of the League Championship should be we be fortunate to get there. If any paid games are not played, you will be credited on your season ticket renewal for next year. As far as walk up sales are concerned, you can only pay for one game at a time but, if you pay for Saturday the 10th, we will give you Sunday for free as well.
I have had many people tell me the team isn't playing very well right now. Please understand that after winning the first half, many players who haven't played much are getting there chance in the second half. You can't forget that these kids needs some playing time also. You will see a more steady lineup probably 5 -7 days out before the playoffs.
The last homestand is coming up this Friday the 26th. The Casper Rockies will be here for a three game series. Friday night is also "Cap Night" where the first 500 fans through the gates will receive a Free white Raptors Cap. Saturday night is Fireworks night sponsored by Bank of Utah. There are also some free tickets at the 26th street branch. Sunday's game will be at 4:00 pm. Monday, the Idaho Falls Chukars come to town for a two game series, with Tuesday being Costco Night at the ballpark. Free tickets are at Costco in Ogden. Wednesday the 31st, the Orem Owlz come to town on Weber State Footbal Night. Please wear purple and support the players who should be at the game along with new Head Coach Ron McBride to throw out the first pitch. Thursday the 1st of September, there are free tickets at Wells Fargo. Then on Friday the 2nd, we close out the home schedule with Fan Appreciation Night.
Please make note that Monday the 29th of August through Thursday September 1st, the game times will be 6:00 pm. This is to accomodate Back To School.
