Rockies fall to Brewers in finale
August 24, 2005 - Pioneer League (PL)
Casper Ghosts News Release
The Helena Brewers pulled even with the Casper Rockies in their four-game series on Wednesday night winning the last two games of the set. Helena's pitching was the difference in the win. Starter Ryan Marion fanned seven Rockies hitters in six innings to earn the win. The save went to righty Will Inman, it was his first of the season. Inman was dominating, working 2.2 innings and striking out six men. Rockies lefty Brandon Durden took the loss, working four innings and allowing six runs (four earned).
The Rockies get Thursday off before heading South to play the Ogden Raptors on Friday. That ushers in the Rockies final road swing in the regular season. Anuery Rodriguez starts for Casper versus Marlon Arias of Ogden.
With the Rockies Wednesday night loss to Helena, Casper is 12-12 in the second half. Ogden and Great Falls split a double-header to put the Raptors even with Casper for first place. Orem and Idaho Falls both lost as well which keeps the Rockies four games on top of Orem and five of Idaho Falls for a potential wild-card playoff spot. Casper will meet all three South teams on this eight game road trip for Casper.
