Worcester Tornadoes News Release
Worcester, MA - The Worcester Tornadoes have announced that tickets for the 2008 Can-Am League playoffs go on sale today!
The winners of each half, along with the two teams with the best overall records among non-half winners during the entire season, qualify for the four-team playoffs. Quebec has already clinched the #1 seed by winning the first half. If the Capitales also win the second half, the three teams with the next-best overall records for the season will qualify. Worcester, Sussex and Atlantic City have wrapped up the other three playoff berths, but final seeding has yet to be determined. The Tornadoes cliched a playoff berth on Wednesday night by virtue of the Skyhawks win over the Jackals, which eliminated Brockton from Second Half title contention. The semifinals take place September 3-7, while the finals will be held September 9-13. Both rounds are best-of-five series.
-If the Tornadoes are a #2 or #3 seed, they will play either Sussex or Atlantic City in the first round:
- at Worcester, Wednesday, September 3, 7:05 p.m. (Game 1)
- at Worcester, Thursday, September 4, 7:05 p.m. (Game 2)
