Calgary Vipers News Release


For the fourth straight season the Calgary Vipers qualified for the postseason after a 20-4 victory over the Tijuana Big Horn Sheep at Desert Sun Stadium in Yuma, Arizona. Coupled with a Victoria Seals loss the Snakes hold a three and a half games lead in the North Division's second half standings at 27-15 with only three games remaining. After a modest beginning the Vipers scored 16 runs in their final five at-bats to go along with 22 total hits. Overall Calgary's record is 50-35 on the Golden Baseball League season.

Calgary wraps up the regular season against the Tijuana Big Horn Sheep in Yuma, Arizona with a double-header on Saturday September 4th at 6:30 PM MDT and final game on Sunday September 5th at 7:00 PM MDT.

The Vipers will begin the 2010 Playoffs on the road in Chico against the Outlaws with Games 1 & 2 of a best of five series on Tuesday September 7th and Wednesday September 8th with both games starting at 8:05 PM MDT.

Calgary returns home to Foothills Stadium for Game 3 of the North Division Championship Series on Friday September 10th at 7:05 PM MDT. If necessary Games 4 & 5 will also be played in Calgary on Saturday September 11th and Sunday September 12th.
