Playoff Push for HarbourCats, Promotions All Set Up

July 23, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Victoria HabourCats News Release

VICTORIA, B.C. - The Victoria HarbourCats have put themselves in a position to play in the playoffs for the first time - get hot, stay hot, and do it for the great baseball fans of Victoria, that's the goal.

The HarbourCats are two games out of a playoff spot with 16 games to go - and in those 16 games are matchups with teams who are right in the mix with the HarbourCats, including the Yakima Valley Pippins, the Cowlitz Black Bears, and this weekend's opponent, the Walla Walla Sweets (who feature maybe the best hat design in minor league or collegiate summer baseball).

Games this weekend are Friday and Saturday evenings (6:35pm starts, gates open at 5:30pm), and Sunday afternoon (1pm start, noon for the gates). The weather forecast is perfect for enjoying a game - not too hot.

We have major groups coming to see the HarbourCats this weekend, including the AAA Peewee Provincial tournament participants, and the Cadets.

The BIGGEST part of the weekend might be Sunday's visit by "Sindy-with-an-S" and Naeha of Big Brother Canada, there to meet Big Brother Canada fans, throw out the first pitch, sign autographs, and visit with their Big Brother Canada fellow houseguest, Graig Merritt - HarbourCats head coach.
