SEEKING A SPLIT

The Oilers attempt to level the first-round series with the Americans tonight after suffering a 6-2 loss in Game 1 on Tuesday. Tulsa held a 2-1 lead five minutes into the second period but Allen stormed ahead with four unanswered goals to take a 5-2 advantage into the final frame. The Oilers managed only five shots on goal in the third period and totaled just 21 shots for the game, their lowest total since January 16 when they shot the puck 20 times in a loss to Florida. Center Spencer Asuchak led the Americans' attack with two goals and an assist while T.J. Caig and Jon Booras tallied the only goals for the Oilers.

TRYING TO TURN THE TIDE

Including regular season games, the Oilers have lost five straight contests to the Americans (0-4-1) and have been outscored 25-8 in those meetings. In Game 1, the Americans put up 41 shots on goal, the highest shot total for a Tulsa opponent since January 14 when the Florida Everblades recorded 44 shots.

MEMORABLE DEBUT

Oilers' rookie Stephen Perfetto dished out a pair of assists in his first pro playoff game on Tuesday. The 23-year old created a turnover in the Americans' zone and slipped a pass to T.J. Caig to set up the Oilers first goal in the first period. Perfetto tracked down a loose puck in the slot in the second period and fired a shot that led to Jon Booras' rebound strike which gave the Oilers their only lead of the night.

BRINGS OUT HIS BEST

Right-winger T.J. Caig has played some of his best hockey against the Americans this season. Caig, who scored the Oilers' first goal of the postseason on Tuesday, led all Oilers with 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists) in 17 regular season outings against Allen.

MELE RETURNS

Tommy Mele is back in the Tulsa lineup tonight after spending the last three weeks with the Oklahoma City Barons in the AHL. Mele, who hasn't been in an Oilers' uniform since March 18, put up 38 points (21 goals, 17 assists) in 60 regular season games.

ROLE REVERSAL

The Americans led the ECHL in penalty minutes during the regular season but on Tuesday night in Game 1 it was the Oilers who spent more time in the penalty box. Tulsa was whistled for nine infractions for a total of 26 penalty minutes while Allen was called for five penalties and a total of 10 minutes. The Americans capitalized twice on seven power play chances as the Oilers went 0-for-4 on the man-advantage.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT

Tulsa captain Nathan Lutz appeared in his 75 th postseason game on Tuesday night. In his 14-year career, the Saskatchewan native has been to the playoffs 10 times with seven teams in four different leagues. Lutz won a UHL title with the Rockford Ice Hogs in 2007 and helped lead the Wichita Thunder to the CHL Finals in 2013.

GREATNESS IN GOAL

Kevin Carr set a new franchise record with a goals against average of 2.73 for the 2014-15 season. The previous mark was held by Trevor Cann who posted a 2.81 goals against average for the 2009-10 season. The 24-year old rookie was in net for 30 of the Oilers' 37 wins this season and played 70-percent of the total minutes. Carr allowed one goal or fewer in nine of his final 12 appearances of the season.

ROAD WARRIORS The Oilers earned points in 14 of their final 17 regular season road games (12-3-2) and finished the season with a road record of 19-13-2-2, their highest road win total of the Bruce Ramsay era.

OIL DROPS

Bruce Ramsay is making his third playoff appearance as Oilers' Head Coach...Tulsa has not advanced past the second round of the playoffs since 1994...Jeff Jubinville (63 points) is the highest-scoring Oilers' rookie since Mike Ullrich and Dylan Clarke recorded 64 points during the 2011-12 season.
