Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce that have clinched a playoff spot for the upcoming 2005 Colonial Cup Playoffs.
Kalamazoo reserved their spot for the playoffs by defeating the Port Huron Beacons 4-1 yesterday, coupled with Motor City Mechanics beating the Flint Generals last night.
The K-Wings, who have nine regular season games remaining, including three at home, can focus on improving their playoff seed. Kalamazoo is currently six-points behind the Muskegon Fury for the top spot in both the Central Division and for first place overall in the UHL.
The top four teams in the UHL will receive home ice advantage in the first round of the postseason. Currently the K-Wings are fourth overall in the league.
Playoff Strips for the upcoming playoffs will go on sale for season ticket holders only this Saturday, March 26th at 10 a.m. Season ticket holders will have one week to reserve their seats for the upcoming playoffs. Any season ticket holder that does not reserve their playoff strips by Saturday, April 2nd at 2 p.m. will not be guaranteed their same seats for the postseason.
Playoff Strip Tickets and individual playoff tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, April 4th at 10 a.m.
This will be the second playoff series for the K-Wings in their UHL history. Besides last season's playoff run, the K-Wings did play one postseason game back in the 2000-01 season, when they lost in a one game Wild Card playoff in Muskegon.
Playoff Strip Packages will range from $96- (Blue Area)-$156 (Red Area).
In the event that the K-Wings do not play all 12 potential home playoff games Playoff Strip Package purchasers will have the balance applied to next year's season tickets
All tickets to watch the K-Wings make their run to the Colonial Cup at Wings Stadium have been increased by just $1. Tickets for K-Wings home games in the postseason will range from $8 (Blue Area)-$13 (Red Area).
