New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League had two roster transactions today, and each involved a Right-Handed Pitcher.

RHP Michael Allen, the 23-year-old Reliever out of Orange Park, FL, has been assigned to Ft. Myers in the Single-A, Florida State League. The 6'3"/220-pound hurler made 16 bullpen appearances for the 2010 Rock Cats and departs Connecticut with a W-L record of 1-1 with a 7.84 ERA over 20.2 total innings of work at the Double-A level.
RHP Chris Province, the 25-year-old native of Slidell, LA, has rejoined the Rock Cats after making two solid appearances for Rochester in the Triple-A, International League. The Southwestern Louisiana University product was acquired by New Britain's parent club, the Minnesota Twins, via a trade with Boston in December of 2009. The 6'3"/222-pound Province began the 2010 Season in New Britain and made 29 appearances out of the Rock Cats' bullpen prior to his June 25th promotion. In 44.1 total innings of work, he posted a 2-1 record with 4 Saves to go with a 5.48 ERA.
Both moves are effective immediately.
