2010 Eastern League All-Star Rosters Announced
June 29, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1) News Release
The Harrisburg Senators, in conjunction with the Eastern League, today announced the rosters for the 2010 Eastern League All-Star Game presented by Ollie's Bargain Outlet, which is on Wednesday, July 14 at Metro Bank Park. This is the second time the Senators have hosted the Eastern League All-Star with the first time being in 1988.
The 2010 Eastern League All-Star Game presented by Ollie's Bargain Outlet features some of the brightest stars from the twelve teams in the league. The game pits the Western Division (Akron, Altoona, Bowie, Erie, Harrisburg & Richmond) against the Eastern Division (Binghamton, New Britain, New Hampshire, Portland, Reading and Trenton). Each roster has 24 players with at least three players from each team. At least one position player and one pitcher were selected by the fans of each team through online and stadium balloting. The remaining selections were made through voting by league media, managers, and officials.
The Senators coaching staff led by manager Randy Knorr will lead the Western Division while the coaching staff for the New Britain Rock Cats, led by manager Jeff Smith, will lead the Eastern Division.
The game is a culmination of events that begin at 1:00pm with the gates opening to Metro Bank Park. Fans will have an opportunity to watch two home run derbies, batting practice for both teams, gather autographs from every player and coach, and all of that before the main event.
Six Eastern League All-Stars are also participating in the Futures Game and they are: Zach Britton (Bowie), Lonnie Chisenhall (Akron), Danny Espinosa (Harrisburg), Ben Revere (New Britain), Austin Romine (Trenton) all for the US team and for the World Team Trystan Magnusson (New Hampshire).
Tickets to the 2010 Eastern League All-Star game presented by Ollie's Bargain Outlet are available for purchase by calling the Senators box office at 717-231-4444, visiting the Senators Web site, www.senatorsbaseball.com, or in person at the box office at Metro Bank Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
