Augusta Lynx News Release

Augusta, GA - The Augusta Lynx released three players from training camp while adding forward Garrett Bembridge, who was assigned by the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates.

Bembridge comes to Augusta after splitting last season between the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads and AHL's Pirates and Syracuse Crunch, scoring a total of 42 goals and 84 points between the two leagues. The 6-0, 180 lb. right wing also compiled 78 minutes in penalties. After seeing action in seven playoff games with Idaho last season in which he scored five goals and nine points, Bembridge headed to Portland for 17 post-season games, adding three goals and five points with 10 minutes in penalties.

Hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the 25-year-old Bembridge was drafted twice, the first in 1999 by the New York Rangers as the 137th overall pick in the fifth round, then by the Calgary Flames as the 207th selection in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Augusta released forwards Matt Radoslovich and Gino Guyer as well as defenseman Will Bodine in anticipation of final cuts due Wednesday.
