Fresno Falcons News Release

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has claimed forward Brian McConnell off of waivers from the Trenton Titans.

A second round selection, #39 overall, by the Calgary Flames in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, McConnell appeared in 70 games for the Titans last season scoring 17 points and adding 127 penalty minutes. McConnell wrapped up a four-year collegiate career at Boston University in 2004-05. In 149 games with the Terriers, he scored 42 goals and added 46 assists to go along with 277 penalty minutes.

"Brian McConnell is the type of player we need in Fresno," Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Matt Thomas said. "He reminds me a lot of Fraser Clair as a young player."
