
Pins for Kids to Take Place on Sunday

Wilmington, N.C. - On Sunday, July 29, the Wilmington Sharks will host its first annual charity bowling event, titled "Pins for Kids," to benefit Wilmington's Residential Adolescent Achievement Place (WRAAP).
Presented by Miller Motte College, the event will have two sessions with 24 lanes available in each session. Teams of four may sign up, and each group will be joined by a Sharks player or coach. Each lane can be reserved for $50.
Pins for Kids will take place at Cardinal Lanes at 3907 Shipyard Boulevard in Wilmington, with the first session beginning at 2 p.m. and lasting two hours. After a half hour break, the second session will start at 4:30 p.m.
Gift cards and prize packages from local businesses will be raffled off throughout the afternoon, as will bowling pins autographed by the team.

WRAAP is a 501(c)3 private nonprofit agency located in Wilmington, NC. Since its inception, the Board of Directors, Program staff, and volunteers have always responded to the needs identified by families, community and government institutions (i.e. courts, schools, social services), and faith-based social groups. WRAAP offer after school programs that promote self-reliance and healthy lifestyles, through education, mentoring, and advocacy. The targeted populations are identified as "at risk" children, with low academic achievement, court involvement, latched-key, or engaged in some form of risky behaviors.
The Wilmington Sharks are members of Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Now in its 16th season, The Coastal Plain League features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer. The CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 53 alums make their Major League debut thus far.
