Sharks Announce General Manager

WILMINGTON, NC - The Wilmington Sharks are pleased to announce John Hunt as the General Manager of the organization. In 2022, Hunt served as General Manager of the Pierre Trappers of the Expedition League where he was named "Executive Of The Year." Hunt's baseball background includes six years working with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in the Atlantic League.
"We are very pleased that John will be leading the Sharks," said owner Matt Perry. "His extensive experience in the baseball industry will certainly be a real asset to the continued growth of the Sharks organization."
Hunt was raised in Maryland and attended American University in Washington DC. His career started at the age of 15 doing radio on air and took him to stations in DC, Cleveland, Atlanta, and Houston until he purchased a radio station in Oregon in 2015.
A self proclaimed "music geek" and sports lover, Hunt regularly advicates as an Ambassador for Donate Life as he is the blessed recipient of a Heart Transplant in 2019 from an unknown donor at The University of Washington Hospital in Seattle. Since that date, Hunt has run three 5K events and is a published author.
"I am excited to join an organization with such a strong baseball history to help enhance the game experience for the fans," said Hunt. "I look forward to meeting Shark Nation and doing what I can to help the Sharks become an even bigger part of the community."
Hunt is the proud father of two adult children - Matthew is an EDM DJ in Los Angeles and Casey is an Attorney in Harrisburg, PA.
