
Pino and Concepcion Lead Runners Over Colts

SAN ANGELO, Texas- Led by Wilmer Pino and Ambiorix Concepcion who each posted home runs on the night, the Edinburg Roadrunners defeated the San Angelo Colts 9-4 at Foster Field Wednesday night.
Neither team scored until the fourth where the Roadrunners (26-10) posted four runs starting with Pino's homerun, singles by Felix Molina and Wilson Batista to set up the three run homer by Concepcion to give Edinburg the 4-0 lead.
San Angelo (20-19) scored in the fourth starting with a single by Mark Ramos, a walk to Ronnie Gaines. Jason Crosland then hit into a fielders choice situation and an error caused Ramos to score to put the Colts within three at 4-1.
Each team posted runs in the fifth and seventh innings making it a 6-3 game, but the Roadruners posted two runs in the eighth to extend their lead 8-3 going into the final inning.
Edinburg posted a run in the ninth, and despite a bases loaded situation, relief pitcher Robbie Nelson was able to get out of the inning just giving up one more run to the Colts giving Edinburg the win 9-4.
Mike Reeves pitched six innings for the Roadrunners with six strikeouts and just two runs on two hits, while Aaron Guerra gave up one run as well as Nelson in relief.
Edinburg and San Angelo meet again tomorrow for the final game at Foster Field of the series. Mark DiBernardo will be taking the mound for the Roadrunners with game time at7:05 p.m.
