Pink in the Rink Set for February 11th

The Canadian Cancer Society and the Owen Sound Attack are teaming up to host "Pink in the Rink" happening on February 11th. The night will be full of pink while raising money for life saving breast cancer research and programs and services with the society. The Attack will be wearing brand new Pink Jersey's to honor loved ones who could not be here with us and in celebration of those who are as they take on the Peterborough Pete's who have in the past held their own Pink in the Rink event.

It's an event you won't want to miss and the next few weeks are full of excitement as The Canadian Cancer Society prepares to turn the arena PINK in the effort to promote the event and the cause behind it.

It is estimated that 23,600 new cases of breast cancer in women will be diagnosed in Canada in 2012. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. The Society is hoping this event will urge women to be tested and to follow proper screening guidelines as well as to fundraise for dollars that are much needed to fund research and support local patients who use the services and programs of the Society.

Boston Pizza will be hosting the official kick-off event for "Pink in the Rink" on Sunday, January 22 from 12-3pm. With a small donation of only a Toonie you can shoot on an Attack player plus take home an autographed photo of your favorite player. Boston Pizza will be serving $2 slices of pizza and providing a great atmosphere to kick-off Pink in the Rink. Get your pink limited edition Attack t-shirts while you are there, wear them to the game and you could win a gorgeous Attack breast cancer ribbon pendant valued at $800 donated by DC Taylors.

Limited edition Pink t-shirts are now available at many locations in Owen Sound; Boston Pizza, The Canadian Cancer Society office, The Attack Shack, BDO, Centennial Windows and 92.3 The Dock for $20 each. A limited supply is available.

Be sure to be one of the 1st 200 women to the game and receive pink carnations compliments of Awesome Blossoms being handed out by Owen Sound Girls Hockey. It is going to be a sea of pink so be sure to dress up your pink Attack shirts with your favorite pair of pants, a boa or hat! Even KIA is planning to "pinkify" their intermission vehicle to support the event. Also attending game night will be The Quota Club with breast cancer hockey pins.

Be sure to pick up your complimentary Pink Rally towel from Tamara Govier of Investors Group or your Thunderstick supplied by Springmount Tim-br Mart located in the concourse on game night.

Try your luck with a puck.purchase your rubber puck, you might just win one of 5 prizes in the puck toss or check out the silent auction happening in the concourse.

To get your hands on a game worn PINK Attack jersey, log onto the CHL website at http://auction.chl.ca/, register and start bidding on February 1st. Each jersey will be game worn and signed by the player and delivered to the winning bidder. Bidding closes February 28th.
