St. Cloud Rox News Release

Brainerd, MN -- The game was tied since the 6th inning. Both St. Cloud and Thunder Bay threatened to score at times, but failed to cross home. The Rox went into extras for the second time in three days, and once again found a way to win. Cole Krzmarzick (Nevada) entered the game in the top of the 12th with Matt Tarantino (Pacific) on second base. After facing a 2-2 count and fouling one off to stay alive, on the sixth pitch he lined one up the middle to give STC the go-ahead run.

Jackson Rose (Minnesota) finished the bottom half to earn the win and the Rox won their fourth straight game and improved to 6-2. They trailed 3-0 going into the 6th inning, and that is when the offense ignited. After managing just two hits through five innings, St. Cloud scored three runs on fours hits capped off by a Luke Ringhofer (South Dakota State) double down the 3rd base line to tie the game in the 6th. The next run that scored was six innings later thanks to the pinch-hitter Krzmarzick.

Luke Manzo (College of Charleston) and Mason Mamarella (Kent State) also added RBI's in that inning to tie the game after St. Cloud trailed until Ringhofer's tying hit. Starting pitcher Ryan Shreve (Pacific) went five innings allowing six hits and three runs. Jake Stevenson (Minnesota), Brent Killam (Georgetown) and Jackson Rose combined to pitch the next seven innings. The three kept the Thunder Bay bats silent giving up just two hits and striking up 10.

The Rox remain atop the North Division tied with the Bucks at 6-2. STC now looks ahead to a series with the La Crosse Loggers on Wednesday and Thursday for the first two games of a five game homestand.
