Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
Winnipeg Blue Bombers' quarterback Buck Pierce is being honoured this week by being named the Gibson's Finest Offensive Player of the Week after a solid performance in his team's loss to the Toronto Argonauts on Friday. Pierce went 25 of 35 for 366 yards and three touchdowns and also ran the ball seven times for 103 yards and a touchdown. It was the first time in over a decade that a Blue Bomber quarterback surpassed the century mark with his feet. This isn't the first time Pierce has been recognized for this award, as he last won in 2009 for his Week 14 performance while with the BC Lions.
Pierce is the second Bomber to be recognized in consecutive weeks as Joe Lobendahn was named the Gibson's Finest Defensive Player of the Week for Week 1.
