
Philadelphia Union Announce 2021 Season & Home Opener

Philadelphia Union News Release
CHESTER, Pa. - Coming off of their 2020 Supporters' Shield winning season, the Philadelphia Union, in conjunction with Major League Soccer, today announced that the Union will begin the 2021 MLS season by traveling to Historic Crew Stadium to take on Columbus Crew SC on Sunday, April 18 at 5:30 p.m. ET. The match against the reigning MLS Cup Champions is set to be one of select games to be broadcast nationally (FS1, FOX Deportes).
The Union will go on to host Inter Miami CF in the club's 2021 home opener the following weekend on Saturday, April 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET on PHL17 with a pregame show beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET. The match will also be streamed on PhiladelphiaUnion.com followed by a 30 minute digital-only postgame show.
Information on purchasing tickets to Philadelphia Union home matches will be available soon. The Philadelphia Union plans to host fans in compliance with Pennsylvania state guidelines, currently at 20% at outdoor events, heading into their 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League game on April 14 and the Major League Soccer season. The Union will continue to have a strict set of safety protocols implemented for each game which were created in consultation with local health officials, Major League Soccer and the league's health and safety experts.
Prior to the start of the Major League Soccer season, the Union will compete in the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League round of 16's first leg against Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica at 6:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 7 and in Subaru Park at 8:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 14.
