Philadelphia Union News Release
CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union and Bimbo Bakeries USA (Bimbo), the largest baking company in the United States, announced a new four-year partnership renewal as the club's official, exclusive jersey sponsor. This deal is a first of its kind for any MLS sponsor and club, as it enables Bimbo to vary its sponsor branding on home and away kits for the 2020 season.
"Bimbo has been a part of the Philadelphia Union history since the partnership first began in 2011. We're proud to continue the partnership with Bimbo and their robust portfolio of brands including household names such as Entenmann's, Sara Lee, Thomas', Little Bites, and Artesano," said Tim McDermott, Philadelphia Union Chief Business Officer. "With this multi-year deal, we've taken the foundation of the first agreement and built on it in a way that is progressive, not only for our club, but for MLS as a whole."
In addition, the Union and Bimbo will launch a new platform that will invest in youth development and community outreach. The Union and Bimbo will work with local community organizations to create youth soccer programs and will support local community groups through monthly community service projects in the Greater Delaware Valley area.
"For almost a decade, Bimbo Bakeries USA has had the opportunity to connect Union fans with our bread, breakfast and sweet baked goods brands," said Vince Melchiorre, Senior Vice President at Bimbo Bakeries USA. "We are excited at the prospect of featuring other fan favorite brands on the Union jerseys and looking forward to working side by side with the Philadelphia Union in the communities we call home."
