Philadelphia Union Acquire $300,000 in General Allocation Money from New York City FC

CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union announced today that the club has loaned midfielder Andres Perea to New York City FC for the remainder of the 2023 season. In return, the Union acquire $300,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money (GAM).

The Union acquired Perea from Orlando City SC on December 6, 2022. He made his first appearance for the club on February 25, 2023, in a 4-1 win over Columbus. He scored his first goal for the club when the Union faced his former team, Orlando City SC, on March 25, 2023.

Internationally, Perea has represented Colombia at the U-17 and U-20 levels. In January 2021, FIFA granted Perea a one-time switch to represent the United States Men's National Team competitively, and on January 31 he made his debut for the United States in a 7-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago in an international friendly.

Transaction: Philadelphia Union acquire $300,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money in exchange for the loan of Andres Perea to New York City FC through the end of the 2023 season on July 28, 2023.
