Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Tickets for the Clásico Regio on Oct. 14 at Shell Energy Stadium are now on sale. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. CT. The match features Club de Futbol Monterrey and the reigning champions of the first division in Mexico, Club Tigres UANL.
Fans can purchase tickets for the match on SeatGeek.com. El Clásico Regio is considered one of the most passionate and intense derbies in the world. The match has only been played in the Unites States three times, all under the Interliga banner. The last time these two teams played in the U.S. was in the group stage of the Interliga 2010 tournament at Robertson Stadium in Houston. This will be the first time that this game is played as a stand-alone event.
Houston's large population hailing from Monterrey will get a chance to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month like never before as part of the activations for this match. Various activities will take place leading up to the game; including a charity event, and a major Fan Fest, beginning at 1:00 p.m. CT, will feature club legends, mascots, trophies, celebrities, and musical performances.
Shell Energy Stadium, home of Houston Dynamo FC and Houston Dash has been the backdrop for several international matches this season. The state-of-the-art venue was selected by Concacaf to host matches for the 2023 Gold Cup and the Bayou City was the only city to be awarded two separate venues.
