Hershey Bears News Release
HERSHEY now has notched points in eight straight games against Philadelphia in 2005-06, but the BEARS fell in a shootout Saturday night at GIANT Center 2-1.
Jakub Klepis put the BEARS up 1-0 at the 8:53 mark of the first period with his 11th goal of the season, and HERSHEY would carry that lead into the third period. The Phantoms would finally break through against BEARS goaltender Maxime Daigneault at the 14:07 mark of the third period when Pat Kavanaugh stood all alone at the top of the HERSHEY goal crease and scored his 16th goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. Each team had a power play chance in overtime and could not score before the Phantoms prevailed in four rounds of a shootout. Daigneault made 26 saves in his HERSHEY debut, while Phantoms goaltender Martin Houle improved his record to 9-12-1.
The BEARS will host Grand Rapids Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
