PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms, in conjunction with the American Hockey League (AHL), today announced that the defending Calder Cup Champions will be featured on an upcoming 15-game AHL slate on XM Satellite Radio. The Phantoms game this Friday, Feb 17 at the Wachovia Center against the Chicago Wolves at 7:05 PM will be broadcast live on XM's all-hockey Home Ice channel 204.

Philadelphia's Mike Thornton will handle the play-by-play, as the contest features a rematch of the 2005 Calder Cup Finals. The last time the two teams met in Pennsylvania, an AHL record 20,103 purple-clad fans piled into the Wachovia Center as the Phantoms completed a four-game sweep of the Wolves. The two clubs most recently renewed their rivalry in Chicago on Saturday night. Tony Voce scored a franchise record four goals in a 6-1 win.

XM, which recently carried the 2006 AHL All-Star Game from Winnipeg, will begin its coverage of regular-season AHL action tonight (Feb. 14) with a battle between the Grand Rapids Griffins and the Manitoba Moose, the top two teams in the North Division. On Wednesday, XM picks up the AHL's Battle of Ontario as the Toronto Marlies visit the Hamilton Bulldogs. Thursday, the Cleveland Barons entertain Grand Rapids on XM 204, and on Saturday, the Manchester Monarchs visit a fellow Eastern Conference power, the Hershey Bears.
